Gary Kauffman, Esq.

Gary Kauffman, Esq., graduated from Syracuse University; he earned his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he served on the Law Review, and published scholarly articles (including one in a Columbia Law School journal).  Mr. Kauffman’s primary focus is real estate and business transactions; and is a frequent lecturer, including symposia sponsored by the Realtor® Association of Sarasota and Manatee.

Mr. Kauffman brings a depth and breadth of legal expertise accumulated during his more than 33 years of practicing law. He began his legal career in New York City with the international firm Proskauer Rose Goetz & Mendelsohn.  In New York, he represented large corporate clients, such as the Tokyo Stock Exchange and Bozell Advertising, as well as low budget independent films, such as Flirting With Disaster (starring Ben Stiller and Patricia Arquette).

Real Estate

Mr. Kauffman’s practice encompasses both residential and commercial real estate. He has played an integral role in many major developments throughout the country, including the following real estate and/or condominium projects in Sarasota: Courthouse Centre (1900 Main Street), Sabal Palm Plaza (1950 Ringling Boulevard), P.F. Chang’s Restaurant (766 S. Osprey), Miramar Plaza (Palm Avenue), Regatta Village (5250 17th Street), Rosemary Square (1438 Boulevard of the Arts), 1500 State Street, Civix-ESA Plaza (Palmetto), and Beach House Residences (Siesta Key).

Business-Corporate

In addition, Mr. Kauffman represents clients in a multitude of transactional business matters, including but not limited to business purchases (ranging from $65,000 coffee shops to $10,000,000 manufacturing businesses), corporate restructurings, stock transfers, partnership agreements, private offerings, and secured lending for many types of business. Mr. Kauffman also has experience representing foreign clients seeking to purchase a business in order to qualify for an E-2 visa.
